About the doctor

Dr. Advani has worked in Medical Oncology and Hematology since 1974, collaborating across clinical branches and with basic scientists. His current focus involves developing developmental therapeutics through integrated clinical research across oncology disciplines and pursuing biological therapies targeting cancer cell molecular targets.

He pioneered bone marrow transplantation infrastructure in India and has contributed approximately 500 national and international publications. He established D.M. Medical Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital and serves as guide for M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Applied Biology.

His department now encompasses modern oncology infrastructure including bone marrow transplantation, hematology laboratory, flow cytometry, cytogenetic and molecular laboratories, day care chemotherapy, and patient counseling. He led National Cancer Institute and Department of Science and Technology-supported research projects and recently contributed to DM Medical Oncology course syllabus development.
