One should plan for a stay of 3 to 5 weeks for a standard, single-visit IVF cycle.

A typical timeline looks like this:

Days 1–3: Initial physical consultations, baseline scans, and medical evaluations.

Days 3–12: Ovarian stimulation (daily hormonal injections) and regular monitoring via ultrasounds.

Days 13–15: Egg retrieval (a brief procedure under light sedation) and fertilization in the laboratory.

Days 18–20: Embryo transfer into the uterus.

Alternatively, some couples choose a split timeline. They travel for 2 weeks for egg retrieval and embryo freezing, return home, and come back a few months later for a shorter 1-week trip for the frozen embryo transfer (FET).
