About the doctor

Dr. Rushi Deshpande joined Jaslok Hospital in 2006 after completing DM and DNB training in Nephrology, plus fellowship in kidney transplantation. He began his nephrology career in 1998 and pioneered extended criteria living kidney transplantation and blood group incompatible transplantation since 2008. He trained under Dr. Oreopoulos in peritoneal dialysis in Toronto.

Previously serving at Tata Memorial Hospital developing onco-nephrology, he chaired the ZTCC Zonal Transplant Coordination Committee for deceased donor transplantation in Maharashtra. He is a founder trustee of Beena Health and Kidney Foundation.
