Dr. Praveen Chandra is Chairman of Interventional Cardiology at Medanta – The Medicity and is regarded as one of India’s leading interventional cardiologists. He is widely recognized for pioneering several advanced cardiac procedures and introducing innovative interventional technologies in India.

His expertise includes coronary angioplasty, structural heart interventions, transcatheter valve procedures, complex cardiac catheterization, and minimally invasive heart treatments. He performed India’s first percutaneous aortic valve implantation without surgery and the country’s first percutaneous mitral valve repair, marking major advancements in cardiac care.

Dr. Chandra has previously served at leading cardiac institutes including Max Healthcare and Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi. He has authored over 100 scientific publications and is an internationally respected faculty member in interventional cardiology conferences and training programs. In recognition of his contribution to medicine, he was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2016.
