Dr. A. B. Mehta brings over five decades of cardiology experience, having performed and supervised more than 20,000 angioplasties and 100,000 angiographies. He pioneered drug-eluting stent placement in India in May 2002 and was among the first to implement primary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction.

He served as President of the World Congress of Coronary Heart Disease (1981 & 1986) and President of the Cardiological Society of India (1998). His career encompasses groundbreaking research in interventional techniques and significant institutional leadership roles.
